Digital Layout

Another layout from my class which ends today. It's not quite done. I still plan to add a date.

These Strangers in the Box

These Strangers in the Box, by Pamela A. Harazim, 1997
Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, or when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be passed away?
Make time to save your stories,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

The missing sign of spring.

Since we bought our house in 2003, I have looked forward to each spring and the blooming of our Redbud tree.

Ah, beautiful!

Then watching the leaves appear.

(Aiden's first time outside I have pictures of him laying under this tree with the sun filtering through the leaves on him.)
But due to age and last summer's drought our tree wasn't looking good last fall. It dropped it's leaves early. After our harsher winter with a couple good nights of freezing temps, the tree didn't recover.
This picture is from today, a very sad sight.

NASA

Here's a little blurb about last months flight from our local neighborhood paper, The Citizen:

... the last U.S. shuttle flight to launch at night as the shuttle program winds down to four remaining flights, delivered the final U.S. module and a "room with a view" to the International Space Station.

So Bill and I have not seen a shuttle launch. The shuttle was delayed when we were in FL for Bill's award in 06 and we haven't tried to make it to another launch, till now! We're packing our bags and heading out for the April 5th launch. Might even get a little time at Disney.

Here a neat link...Bill's been working this since the beginning!

Milestone Update

Logan turned 11 months a week ago! He started cruising the day before that. He's been crawling on his hands and knees more the last while. He drank from his cup on his own this past weekend. He's not taking to finger foods very well, still just mostly plays with it then eating. Still no teeth! still puts everything in his mouth and goes through 3-4 bibs a day with all the drool. He's been shaking his head and babbling more. He has an "arr" sound that totally reminds me of the aliens in Mars Attacks. He likes to play with the rings, mega blocks, farm (opens the doors to get the animal sounds) and basket of balls.

Some fun pictures I got of us playing peek-a-boo!
