Since my last post
I've had sick boys! Wednesday night and Thursday both boys had fevers, Aiden more so then Logan. Colds followed. Aiden was better by Sunday but Logan was still getting a fever off and on with one last night. Today we found out it's an infection in both ears, poor baby. We now have meds and he should be good before we fly in a week.
On another note...Logan is sitting up really well now. He will tip but is doing good.

Sleep
Just as I was thinking that the sleep issues are resolving, Aiden has a bad night. Hopefully tonight will go better.
The schedule change with school and swimming lessons and shorter naps has made for a tired and cranky boy. A couple weeks ago we moved Aiden’s bedtime up hoping he would fall asleep earlier and get more sleep at night. It seems to be working but we’re still in transition. Logan was also getting up to eat, but is now sleeping great with the addition of solids.

October info
Here is some fun info for this month.
The first section is from this blog, couldn't figure out how to add it in. Check it out...there's a great picture of dinosaurs.
http://stacyjulian.com/blog/?p=1071
Today is National Frappe Day.
You should make, or buy milkshakes with the family after dinner.
Coming up …
October 16th is Dictionary Day. Write a definition for a family word or idiom.
October 22nd is National Nut Day. Be one or eat some.
October 24th is National Bologna Day. When is the last time you ate a B-O-L-O-G-N-A sandwich. You might want to teach your kids the song. And in case you didn’t know, Barry Manilow wrote that little jingle, on his way to stardom
October is International Dinosaur Month.
Also
October 12th is National Child Day
October 14th is National Dessert Day - you know I celebrating this one!

Elephants
This past weekend we had a great time getting up close with some elephants. We went to the elephant open house at the Houston zoo. It started with a training demo and we got to see an elephant stand on its head. We then walked around the elephant barn and saw their toys and other info on them.
Aiden had a great time hanging with the elephants. Here we are at the back of their area, a small space between the barn and their exhibit. This is an area you don't get to on a regular zoo visit... so neat.
Methia walked around for all to touch her through the bars. Bill and I had never touched an elephant before so this was fun for all of us.
We ended with a picture with Methia.
One highlight-- Washing Methia! Aiden loved this! I had fun too.
Once we were done, Aiden ran over to Bill and said "we washed the elephant, we washed the elephant." We got this on video and Aiden still enjoys watching it.

The elephants had not been out the last few times I had been to the zoo with Aiden so he was real excited to see them. He kept talking about washing the elephant and wanting to see the picture we got.
Now as Aiden see the pictures... "The mommy and daddy elephant are big and the baby elephant, he's small."

Swim and shots
Aiden had his first swim lesson on Tuesday. He did absolutely wonderful! He even got his face in the water briefly toward the end of his lesson. He didn't like it too much but didn't fuss. He liked the songs and playing with the toys and put up with the swimming part. These are 30 min lessons twice a week for four weeks then we'll just be doing once a week.
In the water
Pre swim fun.
Logan was in for his shots and exam today. He did really well too.
He is now 14 lb 9 oz and 25.3 in. That puts him at 6.21% and 13%, which is fine for him. His a healthy little boy.
He's starting to sit up on his own holding himself up with his hands.

6 months
Logan in 6 months old today!
I can't believe that his first year is half over already.
I'll have an update after his Dr appointment tomorrow.

Right now
Right now Aiden and Logan are playing together as I type.
Right now Aiden has a cold but otherwise doing well. Loves his dinosaurs.
Right now Logan is fascinated with my hair and tries to grab it and put in his mouth. He is also rolling all over the place and aguing all the time.
Right now Aiden is playing with the mouse and being a little distracting.
Right now we need to get ready to leave to pay for Aiden’s swimming lessons.
Right now I have lots of writing projects that I want to work on.
Right now the boys are waking up at night more often then mom and dad would like.

This week
Two weeks is really not that bad...are you ready...
Bill was offered tickets to the Astros game on the 6th and went with his father. I opted out since I would have had to take Logan with. I was really glad Bill was able to go, able to do one of those before kids activities. BTW the Astros won!
Aiden out playing in the sprinkler and pool. It's very much still summer here. It's starting to get to the nice summer weather.
Aiden is really loving preschool. This is a poster about him that will be displayed outside his classroom in rotation with the ones from the other students.
Our little Viking fans!
Football season is here.
Aiden playing with friend Ben.
Great new toy...stroller box.
Next week Logan goes in for his 6 month check-up and Aiden starts swim lessons.

This week
This week:
Mon - Aiden had his first day of school and it went great.
Tue - Aiden had a Dr appt and ended up getting a flu shot. We went to McDonald's for lunch so he could go down the slide. Bill worked late that night but made it home to read Aiden his bedtime story. At the Dr's, Aiden weighed in at 34lbs and a quick check on Logan was 14lbs.
Wed - Aiden was sick in the morning and missed school. Logan spit-up all over my shirt. Aiden tripped and his cheek grazed a shelf corner at Target. It didn't bleed but he has a nice bruise. Bill had to be to work early and worked a little late. He had volleyball, won one, lost one.
Thur - Bill went into work early again and Logan woke up early. Aiden was really tired and cranky throughout the day only a little better after his nap. My scrapbooking class started(online) and we checked out a place for swim lessons for Aiden. The boys had playgroup in the afternoon and I had a much needed mom's night out and went to see The Time traveler's Wife (great book, great movie) with the girls.
Fri - The boys and I did a mall walk and lunch with friends in the morning. After dinner we all went for a walk around the block. The weather has been fairly decent lately. Now the boys are sleeping and Bill and I are relaxing.
